Individual Details
Ingebrigt Eggen
(Feb 1880 - Feb 1880)
(Medical):According to "Rudy's List of Archaic Medical Terms" (http://www.antiquusmorbus.com/English/EnglishT.htm) the definition of Trismus is a closing of the jaw due to tonic spasm of the muscles of mastication from disease of the motor branch of the trigeminal nerve. It is usually associated with general tetanus. Also called lockjaw. Since Ingebrigt was a newborn I also found out this information: Trismus Nascentium--("Locked-Jaw of Infants.") Occurring usually within two weeks from their birth.
