Individual Details

Anton P. Digre

(17 Mar 1894 - 14 Mar 1976)

From James J Seligman , March 2004: Anton, he married Christie (Trooien) and her Grandmother Guri lived with them for awhile. I have his wife as Christie Sandro - that needs to be checked out.
From Carol Fetzer, birth year is 1893
From Carol Fetzer Notes for Anton Digre:
1930 census: Lived in Hendricks, Lincoln County, Minnesota; Anton and Christie; children: Arnold, Edmund, and Milton; also Christie's grandmother Guri Trooien, born about 1850 in Norway.
From Neal Nelson: The information Carol submitted about "our" Christine Digre (born in 1878) is correct. I knew her brother, Anton, and sons Arnold and Ed very well. Anton was a plumbing and heating man in Hendricks. The story I once heard was that it was Anton Digre who placed the weather vane on the steeple of Singsass church utilizing the wheel bearing of a Model A or Model T Ford. I don't know if you have run across this bit of trivia or not. Anton's son, Arnold took over the family business and died about ten years ago. Son, Edmund died last April here in Hendricks. I never realized our Nelson family had a connection with this Digre family until recently.
