Individual Details
Peder Olsen Troøyen
(22 May 1874 - 2 Aug 1955)
Information on the family of Dr. Peder Trooien has been furnished by Mrs. Gladys Wicks. We gratefully acknowledge her very good and detailed information. She writes: ³the folks did a lot of moving after we left Brandt, South Dakota. We located in Toronto and then went to Iowa and located here in Eagle Grove first. Then we went to Williams, Iowa and then Radcliffe, Iowa. Then dad had his office in Thor, Iowa and mom and us kids lived here in Eagle Grove again. Dad retired as a doctor and sold drugs in Illinois and later in Iowa. He retired as a drug salesman and retired here at Eagle Grove. Mom died on the afternoon of Sunday, July 17, 1955. Dad died on Tuesday morning of August 2, 1955.² This letter is dated May 14, 1970, so there may be a considerable amount of change in the family since that time by now (June 28, 1973). A word could probably be added that Dr. Trooien was not a ³drug pusher² in the sense we might interpret it, but one selling drug lines to drug stores.
