Ole Pedersen Rogstadrønningen

(1747 - Abt 1802)

[Enge Larsdt Forosen from dag.FTW]

About 1770 the drummer (norwegian: tambur) and cottier Ole Pedersen moved from Granøya just across the river and settled in Rogstadrønningen. Amongst the villagers the place was called "Tamburplassen" after the settler Ole. About 1880 the people in Tamburplassen had to tear down the houses and get away from the river Gaula that dug into the land and finally took all the land Ole Pedersen and two generations after him had cultivated.
The tambur married Ingeborg Jensdatter Skjerli the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve. His son Jens took over the place about 1800. Things went well for Jens, jugding by the taxes he paid about 1820, and in 1834 he handed over the farm to his son-in-law Ole Olsen Bonesmoen.
