Individual Details
Margaret Louise Jones
(22 Oct 1915 - 17 Jun 1991)
Peggy was raised in Bemidji MN and met John Winsness while he was a student at the U. of ND. She traveled to marry John in Schenectady and together they lived in Pittsfield MA, Havertown PA (where all 3 boys were born), and Chamblee GA.
After John retired early due to cancer, she kept him at the lake home nursing him till he died January 12, 1972.
After about 8 years she married Gus Schmitt who later died also of cancer at the same lake home having likewise been nursed by Peggy.
Shortly after his death in late October or early November, Peggy mysteriously became ill and mentally confused. By Christmas she was in very bad condition and was hospitalized where she shortly became unresponsive. She was cared for in a nursing home until her death in June never speaking or responding to any family member. It is possible that her brain was attacked by a virus.
