Justin Anderson

Justin Herbert Anderson was born on Feb. 22, 1906, in Oak Lake Township, Brookings County, South Dakota. His parents were Andrew and Ingeborg Goodoien Anderson. His early years were spent on the farm and he attended School District No. 63 in Brookings County. Justin was baptized and confirmed in the Singsaas Lutheran Church, and he was a lifetime member of the church. On January 24, 1942, he married Beaulah Fjeseth in the Singsaas church parsonage. During World War II Justin served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945. Following the war Justin and Beaulah moved to her parents farm in Lake Hendricks Township and they farmed here until they retired and moved into Hendricks in 1971. Justin was a director of the First National Bank in White, South Dakota. He was a member of the Astoria American Legion for 50 years. Justin is survived by his wife, Beaulah; two brothers Clarence and Francis, both of Brookings, South Dakota; three sisters, Mrs. Ole (Cora) Mennis of Hendricks, Mrs. Eugene (Evelyn) Sandro of Brookings, and Mrs. Perwin (Viola) Knutson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; two brothers, and one sister.
