Obituary
Services for Ida E. Digre, 93, Hendricks, were held Saturday, Feb. 25, 1989 at the First Lutheran Church in Hendricks, with Pastor James Carlson officiating. Burial was in the Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Madison, S. D. Casketbearers were Adrian Ronning, Sylvan Ronning, D. Wayne Ronning, James Ohlaug, Roland Ellis, and Roger Bjornson. Mrs. Digre died Feb. 23, 1989 at the Hendricks Nursing Home in Hendricks.
Ida Emily Digre was born May 26,1895 at Hendricks to Andrew O. and Anna (Fjeseth) Ronning. Her mother died when she was six months old, and was raised by her father and step-mother. She was baptized and confirmed at Singsaas Lutheran Church in Hendricks. June 21, 1921, Ida married Iver Digre at Brookings, SD. After their marriage, they lived in Huron, SD for 25 years, Tracy, Hayward, MN, back to Huron, then Madison for 15 yrs. Iver passed away in 1973 and Ida has lived in Hendricks since then. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Hendricks. Ida is survived by her daughter, Ardelle Bailor of Escondido, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Art (Helma) Larson of Hendricks and Mrs. Marion (Orcella) Ellis of Brookings, SD; also three grandchildren, Pamela Santurro of Escondido, CA, Tom Digre, Dallas, TX, and James Digre of Oakland, CA and four great grandchildren, Michelle Milne, Eric Digre, Rye Digre and Cody Digre. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Sigrid, her husband Iver, her son John, five brothers, Oscar, Olai, Arthur, Aubrey, and Arthur in infancy and three sisters, Mrs. Tom (Clara ) Olson, Jeanette Monson, and Bessie Lovre.
Ida loved to crochet and she made many lovely pieces for the Nursing Homes' sales of resident's works.
