Lucy’ Louise Kristine Hugos [1885-1961] in 1908 married Carl K. Bergan [1871-1918]. Carl opened Bergan Mercantile in Ambrose in 1906 and prospered until health issues forced the closing of the business in 1916 and a permanent move to San Diego, California. Lucy and Carl had two daughters and one son. Carl had a son from a previous marriage who lived with them. One son published a book about the Hugos & Hindoien Family in 1983.
