This marriage was brought from Kilsyth to Cumberland, B.C. in 1889 or 189 0. It's a little hard to read and is in pretty rough shape. The back of t he certificate states: I hereby attest that the parties mentioned on th e other side of these lines, have this day been regularly married at Kils yth by me, Robert Anderson minister United Pres. Ch. Kilsyth. I would thi nk the church is the United Presbyterian Church. The front of the certifi cate states: James Whyte and Janet Edmond, both residing in this parish , have been three times proclaimed in the Parish Church here, in order t o marriage, and, that no objections have been offered, is attested by Jam es Henderson, Session clerk.
