== Biography ==Henry Hudson was born of [[Hudson-221|Richard Hudson]] who arrived in Virginia about 1633 and [[Hayes-393|Mary Hayes]]. Although not an official title Henry is referred to by some genealogists as Henry "of Maryland" Hudson I.
Henry arrived in Virginia at age 17. Henry and his brother Nicholas moved from Virginia to Maryland due to repercussions of their Virginia family's Quaker beliefs and Maryland's policy of freedom of religion.
