== Biography of Margaret Scott ==
*Margaret Scott was the daughter of Sir Walter Scott, 1st Lord Scott of Buccleuch and Mary Ker.
*She married, firstly, James Ross, 6th Lord Ross of Halkhead, son of Robert Ross, 5th Lord Ross of Halkhead and Jean Hamilton, in 1615.Her married name became Ross. From between November 1642 and March 1644.
*She married, secondly, Alexander Montgomerie, 6th Earl of Eglinton, son of Robert Seton, 1st Earl of Winton and Lady Margaret Montgomerie, between November 1642 and March 1644. She died on 5 October 1652. Her married name became Montgomerie. As a result of her marriage, Margaret Scott was styled as Countess of Eglinton.
