Thomas Clarke was taxed 13s. 4d. in lands valued at £5 at Finningham in the subsidy of 1575/6. He may have taken possession of his father's holdings in Gislingham and part of the Finningham estate as, in 1581, Thomas Clerke and his wife Dorothea were among others who transferred lands in Finningham and Gislingham to Thomas Talbott for £80.Source: [[#S54]] G.
