===Birth==='''[[Burt-36|David Burt]]''' was born between 1629 and 1633 in England to [[Burt-2|Henry Burt Jr.]] and [[Marche-1|Eulalia Marche]]. A record of his birth has not been found. His father was recorded in Roxbury, Massachusetts by 1638 when one of Henry's sons was paid to be the town goatherd. He was also paid by the town of Roxbury for his losses by fire on 5 November 1639. The family moved from Roxbury to the new town of Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts sometime in 1640 (The town had been formed as the settlement of Agawam in 1636 by William Pynchon.). The first appearance of the Burt name was on 24 December 1640 when Henry is given permission to find a canoe tree.
