Benjamin was born about 1769. At the early age of 14, he acted as a private soldier in the Virginia line, for which he was rewarded with a land warrant for 500 acres in 1783 and later received a pension for his service. He passed away in 1846. Entered by Keith Baker

The Last Will and Testament of Benjamin Edwards is to be found in Will Book 2, page 178, Franklin County, Frankfort, Kentucky. In 1810 he was recieving a Revolutionary War pension. 4 July 1839, he declares he is a brother of Rebecca Hawkins, and lived with her at her father's home in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, at the time she married Reuben Hawkins.
