Joane Durward

(Abt 1400 - Aft 25 Jun 1474)

== Biography ==See Richardson Royal Ancestry V under WALDEGRAVE. Her husband is known in various pedigrees as Richard OR William, but Richardson calls him Richard. Married before 1418, died about 1464 according to Richardson.

The history of parliament article for Joane's father mentions: :"His own association with Countess Joan long continued, and he married one of his daughters to the grandson of another member of her circle, Sir Richard Waldegrave."http://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1386-1421/member/doreward-john-1420

The article for the mentioned grandfather Sir Richard mentions::"Considerable confusion has arisen from the existence of four successive Sir Richard Waldegraves, especially as the last three all had wives named Joan. But it may be established with reasonable certainty that the Speaker’s son of this name married Joan (d. 1450), da. and h. of Thomas Munchensy of Edwardstone, Suff., and died in 1435; and that his son Richard, who was born bef. 1405 and kntd. by Mar. 1421, married Joan, da. of John Doreward of Bocking, the Speaker, and died in about 1464; CP, ix. 418; Trans. Essex Arch. Soc. ser. 2, iii. 103; CCR, 1419-22, pp. 120-3, 191, 193, 195; 1422-9, pp. 120, 123, 125-6, 189, 192; Add. 14848, f. 132; Vis. Norf. (Harl.
