28 Dec 1251: grant for free-warren in Wark, Carham, Presson, Mindrum, Downham, Moneylands and Learmouth, Northumberland.

28 Aug 1255 - 12 May 1256: lent his Castle of Wark to King.
After the marriage of Alexander III to Margaret, 26 Dec 1251, Robert de Ros and John de Balliol were sent with her to Scotland as guardians.
1255: with John de Balliol, appointed Guardian of Margaret, Queen of Scotland, but was accused of unfaithfulness in that trust. Margaret complained of their proceedings. Robert was summoned to England, his lands were seized, and a fine of 100,000 marks imposed. On subsequent investigation, he was found to be not guilty, and Wark Castle was restored to him and his older brother, William, 7 Nov. 1259.
1266: conveyed reversion of manor of Wark, Northumberland to younger son, Robert.
