[[Category:EuroAristo_-_Profiles_that_need_work]] } == Biography ==Robert Greville, 2nd Baron Brooke of Beauchamps Court was born in 1607. He was the son of Fulke Greville and Mary Copley. He married Lady Catherine Russell, daughter of Francis Russell, 4th Earl of Bedford and Hon. Catharine Brydges, circa 1630. He died on 2 March 1642/43 at Michael Biddulph's house, killed in action, by a musket ball while looking out a window. He was educated at Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Warwick between February 1628 and May 1628.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Brooke of Beauchamps Court, co. Warwick [E., 1621] on 30 September 1628.1 He was Joint Commissioner to the Scots in September 1640 at Ripon, Yorkshire, England. He was Joint Commissioner to the Scots in November 1640 at London, England. He held the office of Recorder of Warwick between 1641 and 1643. He gained the rank of Colonel in 1642 in the service of the Regiment of Foot.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire in 1642. He fought in the Battle of Edgehill on 22 October 1642, for the Parliamentarians. He gained the rank of Major General on 7 January 1642/43 in the service of the Warwickshire and Staffordshire. He fought in the Siege of St. Chad's Church on 2 March 1642/43. Clarendon wrote that "those who were acquainted with him believed him to be well natured and just, and rather seduced and corrupted in his understanding than perverse and malicious. Whether his Passion, or Conscience sqayed him, he was undoubtedly one of those who could have been with most difficulty reconciled to the government of Church or State."
