The datafield has his birth as "about 1444", which falls within the dates given in Richardson (1438-1448). possibly at Horsted Keynes, Sussex.Analysis posted to Roger Lewknor's profile in July 2015 by Jackson Day applies to Thomas also: "The location of birth is placed at the family seat of Horsted Keynes, Sussex, but there is no evidence of this, nor of which of several plausible sites he [Roger] spent his own time or at which his own children [e.g., Thomas] were born."
: Thomas Lewknor married twice and had three children (Roger, Katherine, and Sibyl) by his first wife, Katherine Pelham, daughter of John Pelham, Knt., and Joan de Courcy.
: Thomas was knighted at the Coronation of King Richard III in 1483. He was a leader in the Duke of Buckingham's rising in Kent in October 1483. In February 1484, he was attainted and his land forfeited. He was denounced as a rebel on 24 May 1484, but was soon pardoned and his lands restored. He died soon thereafter, on 20 July 1484.See also "Bodiam and Its Lords", Mark Antony Lower, ed., Sussex Archaeological Collections Relating to the History and Antiquities of the County, IX (London: Sussex Archaeological Society, 1857), pages 292- (accessed 23 December 2019). Death location of "Trotton, Sussex, England" in datafield was changed 24 December 2019 to just "Sussex, England". While the location of Trotton is possible - Richardson notes that he is "of Trotton" (Magna Carta Ancestry, III:21 LEWKNOR 11) - he is also "of Bodiam" and other places; Richardson does not say where Thomas died.
