Elizabeth Hamilton was born between 1442 and 1443. She was the daughter of James Hamilton, 1st Lord Hamilton and Lady Eupheme Graham.1 She married, firstly, David Lindsay, 1st Duke of Montrose, son of Alexander Lindsay, 4th Earl of Crawford and Margaret Dunbar, in 1459.1 She and David Lindsay, 1st Duke of Montrose were divorced before 1484.1 She married, secondly, John Forrester after 1485.1 She and John Forrester were divorced before 1508.1 She died after March 1517.1 As a result of her marriage, Elizabeth Hamilton was styled as Countess of Crawford in 1459. From 1459, her married name became Lindsay.1 Her last will was dated 11 March 1516/17.2
