== Research Notes ==
:In the 9th volume of Paul's "Peerage of Scotland," an additional daughter was mentioned who shared the given name of 'Elizabeth' but was a daughter of the first wife. Some have interpreted this to be simply a change in the mother of a single daughter named Elizabeth rather than an additional Elizabeth by the first mother but the correction clearly indicates this is an addition of a child with no change to the Elizabeth born to the second wife.
