}William was born about 1428. He was the son of [[Douglas-422|William Douglas]] and [[Hay-53|Margaret Hay]]. He passed away in 1475. He was Warden of the Eastern and Middle Marches, and was guardian to King James III in his minority. He died either unmarried or without male issue, because the 5th Earl of Angus inherited his lands.
