Catherine was an illegitimate daughter of King James IV of Scotland, by his mistress Margaret Boyd. [http://www.thepeerage.com/p10210.htm#i102095 The Peerage: Elizabeth Douglas]
She married James Douglas, 3rd Earl of Morton, on some date before 10 Dec 1507. History records that the Earl, excused military service for poor health, was persecuted by James V notwithstanding being married to the king's half-sister.
They had 3 daughters
* Margaret, wife of James Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Arran
* Beatrice, wife of Robert Maxwell, 6th Lord Maxwell* Elizabeth, wife of another James Douglas, 2nd son of Sir George Douglas of Pittendreich by his wife Isabel, daughter of David Douglas. This James became the 4th Earl, somehow.

:Given few firm dates makes it difficult to assign her birth accurately. It is known that sh married before 10 Dec 1507 so her birth precedes that date even if married in infancy. If we assume she was at least 14, it would place her birth before 10 Dec 1493, which we can simply round to before 1495 and probably several years before.
:Catherine was alive on 22 Apr 1543 but some secondary sources claim she died before her husband, who was died in 1548 (or no later than 1550)[https://our-royal-titled-noble-and-commoner-ancestors.com/p1258.htm#i37778 Our Royal Titled Nobles and Commoner Ancestors: Catherine Stewart] in contradiction of the evidence that she was still alive on 5 Jul 1554.
