== Biography ==}Walter Lindsay second son of David, third earl of Crawford.He acquired Beaufort and part of Aird from David Lindsay of Lethnot whose mother was a daughter and one of the four heiresses of Walter Fenton of Baikie and Beaufort.
Walter Lindsay also held Edzell and Kinblethmont in Angus.
