}Walter Drummond, first laird of Deanstown, was the second son of Sir Malcolm Drummond and Mariota Murray.
He became rector of St Andrews then, in 1496, chancellor of Dunkeld, in 1500, Dean of Dunblane and parson of Kinnoull. He feued some lands from the Haldanes of Gleaneagles within the parish of Kilmadock, Stirlingshire, which were named "Deanstown" after him.
