== Research Notes ==
:In the retour of his great-granddaugher, it was stated that John died in the reign of King James IV who died in the Battle of Flodden so certainly before 8 Feb 1513. He granted a charter on 20 Jan 1505, so after that date. It is also said that his son succeeded in 1510 so before the end of that year.
