On 30 July 1511 he had a charter of Skipness in the Sheriffdom of Tarbart from his father. He lived at Skipnish, Scotland.
In 1537 at Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, he was imprisoned. He died on 18 July 1537 at Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, he fell from the Rock and was killed while trying to escape.
