Sir Robert Crichton, 1st Lord Crichton of Sanquhar was the son of Sir Robert Crichton of Sanquhar and Elizabeth Erskine.
He married, firstly, Margaret Hay.
He married, secondly, Christian Erskine, daughter of Sir John Erskine of Kinnoull, before 1457.[1]
He died from July 1494 to February 1494/95.
He fought in the Battle of Lochmaben in 1484, which he successfully defended for King James III against the 9th Earl of Douglas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Lochmaben_Fair
