Christian Ogilvy
(Abt 1410 - Abt 1485)
== Biography ==It is assumed from Patrick Blair's association with Sir Walter Ogilvy of Carcary and Lintrathen and his son Sir John Ogilvy of Lintrathen that Christain Ogilvy was a daughter of Sir Walter Ogilvy by his second wife Isabel Glen.She may have been named after her aunt Christian Glen who married David Ogilvy brother to Walter.
Patrick Blair witnessed a charter on 4 May 1427 at Meigle in favour of Sir Walter Ogilvy of Lintrathen of the lands of Tulymurcho in the lordship of Alyth.NRS GD16/12/1 see [http://catalogue.nrscotland.gov.uk/nrsonlinecatalogue/details.aspx?reference=GD16%2f12%2f1&st=1&tc=y&tl=n&tn=n&tp=n&k=&ko=a&r=GD16%2f12%2f1&ro=s&df=&dt=&di=n]
Christian married Patrick Blair the son and heir apparent of Thomas Blair of Balthayock about 1435.
Patrick married Christian Ogilvy probably daughter to Sir Walter Ogilvy of Lintrathen and by her had sons:
* Alexander, his heir
* Thomas held the lands of Balgillo and Baldowrie in 1460's
* Patrick of Melginch, burgess of Perth
* George probably a son who held one third of Balgillo in 1460's.
Her husband died about 1450.
On 25 July 1442 (or more probably 1452), at Dundee, Alexander Ogston of that ilk and lord superior of the barony of Craig of Glenisla, granted Christian, Patrick’s widow, ward of the lands of Blacklunans (Balclunoch), Forfarshire. Balthayock Charters 24
It was not until 12 May 1486 that Christian's son and heir, Alexander was given precept for infeftment in the lands of Balclunoch, now called Blacklunans. Balthayock Charters 36 This suggests that Christian had held these lands until her death.
