Elizabeth Ogilvy is stated[[#S-26]] Leslie, Charles Joseph; Volume 3 pages 15 to 26 provide all source material unless specifically identified to be daughter of Sir Walter Ogilvie of Boyne. This is likely the ancestor to Lord Banff. Prior to 1435 Sir Walter Ogilvie held the lands of Auchleven, in the parish of Premnay, of the Earl of Mar. The Garioch being in the lands of the Earl of Mar the Ogilvyies and Leslies were known to each other. In 1437 Sir Walter married Margaret, a daughter and heiress of Sir John Sinclair, laird of Deskford and Findlater, who was killed at the battle of Harlaw. Thus, through his wife, he obtained these two baronies, and added the arms of Sinclair of Deskford to that of Ogilvie. In 1440 he received two charters from James II. of the lands and baronies of Findlater and Deskford.Historic Earls and Earldoms of Scotland; Chapter VI - Earldom and Earls of Findlater, and Seafield [http://www.electricscotland.com/webclans/earldoms/chapter6s1.htm pnline] By his wife he had two sons and one daughter. His second son, Sir Walter Ogilvie of Boyne, was the ancestor of Lord Banff, and of William Ogilvie of Strathearn, Lord High Treasurer of Scotland. Elizabeth's father was the second son mentioned.
She marries [[Leslie-204|William Leslie]], 7th of Balquhain at some point prior to 1506 as she appears , on the 24th January 1506, in a Charter of her husband, where he annexed to the parish of Bourtie, and granted two acres for the construction of a house for the chaplain of Collyhill, who was thus bound to pray for the souls of Bishop Elphinston of Aberdeen, William Leslie, 7th of Balquhain, Elizabeth Ogilvie his wife, and Sir Walter Ogilvie of Boyne, her father, besides several others. This, amongst other items suggests she was married before this date.
Elizabeth had died prior to 1522 as on 24 Jan he resigned the lands of Erlisfeild, Segydene, and the Wrayis, with the Mill of the Syde, in favour of himself and Marjory Keith his spouse. A number of similar Charters follow as he reorganises his lands into a single Barony.
