== Biography ==
Katherine was a daughter and co-heir of Sir John Stirling of Glenesk, Knight.[[#Paul|Paul]]: [https://archive.org/stream/scotspeeragefoun03pauluoft#page/12/mode/2up Vol 3; Page 13]
She married Sir Alexander de Lindsay, second surviving son of David, Lord of Crawford. The marriage-contract was confirmed by King David in 1358.[[#Paul|Paul]]: [https://archive.org/stream/scotspeeragefoun03pauluoft#page/12/mode/2up Vol 3; Page 13]
It is from this marriage that the lands and barony of Glenesk appear in the hands of the family of Lindsay. Her husband assume the title Lord of Glenesk and is noticed as a Knight Banneret.
She died before 1378. They had three children. Sir Alexander re-married after her death.
