== Biography ==
Janet de Fenton (or Fentoun)Cokayne, p. 185, calls her de Fenton, Paul, p. 522 - Fentoun was perhaps born about 1395; her parents are unknown, as she is just described as sister of William de Fenton (or Fentoun of that Ilk).
=== Family ===She married about 1416, (contract dated 3 March 1415/16 at Baky) as his first wife, Hugh Fraser, Lord of Lovat.Paul, p. 522; Cokayne, p. 184, just has March
With Hugh, she was definitely the mother of:-*Thomas Fraser, probably born before 1422, (his father made a contract on 9 August 1422 with Thomas Dunbar, Earl of Moray to marry his son (presumably Thomas) to a yet unborn daughter of Thomas Dunbar) Paul, p. 521 who succeeded his father as Lord of Lovat;
And may have also been the mother of-*Elizabeth Fraser, married as his first wife, Sir William Leslie of Balquhain, and had issuePaul, p. 522
==== Disputed child ====Some internet sites also make her the mother of Hugh (II) 'Sanctus' Fraser, Lord of Lovat, who succeeds his father as Lord of Lovat, and is the father of Hugh Fraser, the first Baron of Lovat. He isn't mentioned at all in Cokayne or Paul, who give this role to her son Thomas Fraser (see above). The only reasonable online source that mentions Hugh 'Sanctus' is The Baronage Press (http://www.baronage.co.uk) but the article on the [http://www.baronage.co.uk/bphtm-03/fraser03.html Frasers of Lovat], fails to cite any sources for its' information.
An earlier source for the Scottish peerage jumps this generation altogether and has Hugh Fraser and Janet Fenton as the parents of Hugh who "marries Janet, daughter of Thomas earl of Murray", dies about 1494 [which equates to Hugh Fraser, the grandson of Janet] and is succeeded by his son Thomas, who was created a Baron by James IV [in fact the second Baron]. Almon, p. 314
=== Death ===Janet must have died before 10 December 1429 when Hugh Fraser is mentioned as the husband of Isabel Wemyss.Cokayne, p. 185 & note e; Paul, p. 522, who again gives the exact date
