He will acquire the lands of Saltoun in East Lothian.
He appears in 1273, in a Charter where he grants two merks out of the profits of his mill at Ulkestone (Oxton), in Lauderdale, to the Abbey of Dryburgh.
History suggests he was involved in the murder of the Earl of Fife, in 1288, and may have been imprisoned in Douglas Castle.
