== Biography =="Between 1217-1219, Hawise granted a rent to the brethren of the Hospital of Jerusalem in England for the foundation of a chantry at the Hospitallers’ house at Clerkenwell, London, for the soul of her husband, Robert."
Circa 1231, she received a charter from her brother, Ranulph, Earl of Chester and Lincoln, purporting to convey to her the Earldom of Lincoln.
"On 27 Oct 1232, shortly after her brother Ranulph'’s death, the King granted the 3rd penny of the county of Lincoln to Hawise as the Earl'’s sister and co-heiress, in consequence of which grant she may be held to have become the Countess of Lincoln. On the preliminary division of the honour of Chester, she received the castle and manor of Bolingbroke, Lincolnshire, with the Earl’s lands in Lindsey and Holland."
She died shortly before 19 Feb 1243, when her son-in-law, Walter Marshal, Earl of Pembroke, restored Bolingbroke Castle to the King.
