== Biography ==
Sir Alexander Lindsay of Ormiston was born about 1300, the son of Sir Alexander Lindsay of Crawford. He had an only daughter, Joneta, to whom Ormiston was given upon her marriage to John Cockburn, upon condition that, if they had no heirs, Ormiston would revert to William Lindsay, Lord of the Byres, the son of Alexander's brother, Sir David Lord of Crawford.
