=== Biography ===:Born about 1297. In 1320 he received from King Robert I the lands of Morebattle in Roxburghshire and Kirkandrews in Dumfriesshire. Additionally he received the lands of Rattray Crimond, Carnglass and others in Buchan in 1324. He was appointed Regent of Scotland in 1333 following the troubles that ensued upon the death of Thomas Randolph, Regent, acting against the claims of Edward Baliol to the Scottish crown. A few months later he was killed at the Battle of Halidon Hill on JUly 19, 1333.
