== Henry of Scotland ==Henry of Scotland was a Prince of Scotland, heir to the Kingdom of Alba.
: Henry was named after his uncle, King Henry I of England who married his paternal aunt Edith of Scotland: Edith gallicised as Matilda after becoming Queen consort in 1100. He had three sons. Two became King of Scotland, and a third whose descendants were critical in later days of the Scottish royal house. He also had three daughters.
: His eldest son became King of Scots as Malcolm IV in 1153. Henry's second son became king in 1165 on the death of his brother, reigning as William I. Both inherited the Earl of Huntingdon, as did his third son, David.: It is from the 8th Earl that all Kings of Scotland after Margaret, Maid of Norway claim descent.
: On Henry's death, the Earldom passed to his half-brother Simon II de Senlis.

(Royal Ancestry) Henry of Scotland, Earl of Northumberland, died 12 June 1152, and was buried at Kelso Abbey, Roxburghshire, Scotland. (His wife) Ada, Countess of Northumberland, lady of Crail and Haddington, died on 1178.
Note. The building of Kelso Abbey was completed in 1143 wen it was dedicated to The Blessed Virgin and Saint John. It was one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture and was one of the largest and richest in Scotland. But being close to the border with England often caused damage from cross-border raids. Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 16th century closed all Border Abbeys. All of the abbeys went into decline and by the 17th century the Abbey was used as a parish church. In 1805, large parts of the Abbey ruins were cleared away, including the parish church. Some ruins remained and at present little of the once great Abbey exists, but the surviving ruin of the tower crossing is impressive.
