==Biography==: By 1234, he was married to Isabella who had inherited the Mormaerdom of Menteith, and so Walter became Mormaer or Earl of Menteith by right of his wife. They had a son named Henry and a daughter, Isabel, who was given in marriage to Gilchrist Mure.
