Don came to California at the start of World War II and joined the U.S. Navy and was assigned to the air craft carrier USS Benjamin Franklin. Don served proudly as one of America's GREATEST GENERATION, and was instrumental in saving the lives of several shipmates when the Franklin was attacked by the Japanese.
