Military

 He completed USAF flight training graduating with the rating of "pilot." His military career combined US Marine Corps and US Air Force service for a total of 21years. During his many years of military service, he had duty as an air traffic controller, KC-135 pilot/aircraft commander, intelligence officer, and Squadron Commander. His tours of duty included Vietnam; Webb AFB, TX; Rickenbacker AFB, OH; Dyess AFB, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Sembach, Germany; and Ft. Meade, Maryland. His many awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award, Combat Readiness Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. -- from obituary.
