Military

During World War II, he was Chief of Staff of the 100th Division of the U.S. 7th Army in Germany. He was awarded the Legion of Merit Medal for meritorious conduct in performance of outstanding service. He later became the Commanding General of the Alaskan Theatre and was promoted to the Chief of U.S. Army Intelligence, Camp Holobird, Baltimore, MD/ Chief of Civil Defense,
