Ousley, Sarah Ann I will try and write the obituary of our "Dear Mother" Sarah Ann Ousley, that passed away July 9, 1974. Mom was born in Floyd County, Kentucky Jan 11, 1905 to the late Mont and Jemima Ousley. Also preceding Mom in death were four sisters: Lila Reffitt, Lelia Campbell, Lisha Reffitt and Nona Bradley. Still surviving is one brother Oscar Ousley, of Risner, Ky. Five sisters living are Goldia Hughes, Sylvia Crum, Arvilla Spradlin, and Biddie Prater, all of Floyd County Ky, and one sister, Sina Davis of Indiana. At the early age of nineteen, Mom was married to Mike Ousley. They had 51 wonderful years together. To his union was born ten children. Five sons are Arnold, Berley, James and Archie of Hamden, Ohio, and Hermal and Dallas of McArthur, Ohio. One son Oscar, preceded her in death at the age of eighteen months. Four daughters surviving are Hazel Ousley, Lelia Marie Lemay, of Hamden, Ohio, Ila Mae Dunlay, of Londonderry, Ohio, and Darcus (Doris) Barnett of McArthur, Ohio. Mom joined the Old Regular Baptist Church in the early thirties at Cold Spring Church in Floyd Co., Ky. She lived a faithful and humble life to the end. Mom and Pop lived a wonderful life together, contented just to sitting around with each other. They always welcomed their friends and relatives in their home. Mom passed away at the Ross County Medical Center at Chillicothe, Ohio, at the age of 69. The last words we heard Mom saying she was talking to the Lord. So rest in peace Mom for you were a rose here on earth and the greatest Mother we children could ever want. We'll always remember you as a gentle speaking and soft-hearted Mom. But you left a light hanging in the window, Mom, and we hope by the help of God, we can follow in your footsteps. You left behind our broken-hearted father, who is just waiting to be rejoined with you again someday in Heaven.
Memorial meeting will be preached the first Sat and Sun in June, 1975, at the Maggie Home Church at Dundas, Ohio. All Regular Ministers are invited. Loved and missed so much by your children, Pop, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.

In a cold and lonely grave yard
Just a few miles away,
Lies the body we wanted so much to keep
Which we could not save.

Dear Mom we wanted so much to keep you
We watched over you night and day.
Until at last with broken hearts,
We saw you pass away.

You tried to joke and laugh with us
As long as God would spare,
Then with tears streaming down your face
We watched and listened to your prayers.

God was with you while you suffered
He knew you'd had your share
He gently closed your eyes,
And took you in his care.

Dear God take this message to Mom up above
Tell her Pop and all of us miss her,
To us, she was like a singing Dove
And Please God give her all our love.
