Seymore was well known in his community by his unique ablity of telling the future and ESP He died not use this in a commercial way but had many friends, neighbors, and local residents call on him at all times for his help. It is said that his ablities were amazing!
In one story a local farmer told:

My Mule came up missing and I could not find him anywhere. I went to Mr. Prather's home and asked for his guidence. Mr. Prather told me that the mule that was missing was the one with a mark behind his ear, and that I could find him in a section of a nearby farm. "Well", I didn't even know that the mule had a mark behind his ear. But when I went to the spot where Mr. Prather told me he could be found, "Well" there he was. When I took a look behind that ear, guess what I found. The mark.

A story told by a local farm lady:

I lost the stone out of my ring and could not find it anywhere. I went to Mr. Prather farm and asked him if he could help. He told me that the stone fell out of my ring when I was feeding the chickens. He told me not to sell any of those chickens but to use them for my dinner table. He said check in the gizzard of each one and I would find the stone out of my ring. All my relatives thought that I was crazy to listen to Mr. Prather but I knew him well and trusted in his power to see what no other human could see. When I found the stone to my ring in one of those gizzards no one in my family ever laughed at Mr. Prather predictions again. They even began to visit him with their troubles.... which he always solved.

It is said in the family that his powers grew stronger as he aged and before he died. Mr. Seymore Prather died with a brain tumor.
