HOCKLEY, Texas — Aline Northern Prater, 99, longtime resident of Lake Charles, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, in Tomball, Texas.
She was born on Aug. 23, 1905, in Ledington, of Southwest Louisiana, and resided in Lake Charles for 48 years. She then moved next to her daughter near Hockley for her remaining years. At all times her accomplishments were to take care and cook for all her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Margie P. Fangue and husband Leonard of Hockley; one son, Bobby Prater and wife Lynn of Rock Hill, S.C.; grandchildren, Leonard Fangue Jr., Ailda Pollard, Gwen Hunter, Benson and Michael Prater and Adam Howell; greatgrandchildren, Jennifer Lang, Tracy Pershall, Bobby Pollard Jr. and Ben, Matthew and Brooks Prater; and greatgreat-grandchildren, Justin and Wyatt Pershall and Jonthan and Matthew Lang.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo "Floyd" Prater; and son, Murl "Sonny" Prater.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Monda
