HACKBERRY — Thomas “Tommy” Hasha, 76, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, in his residence.
Mr. Hasha was born and raised in Lake Charles and has lived most of his life in Lake Charles before settling in Hackberry. He served the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a millwright for the Local Union 1476 for nearly 35 years before retiring. He was a member of the Carpenters & Joiners Local 953, the VFW and the American Legion. Mr. Hasha loved to cook and entertain family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing in his catfish pond. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
He leaves to honor his memory his companion of 34 years, Amy L. Romero of Hackberry; four sons, Daniel Gary Hasha of Sulphur, Dane Gregory Hasha and Donald Glenn Hasha of Lake Charles, and Thomas John Hasha and wife Sheila of Lafayette; two daughters, Deanna Gay Myers and husband Dwight of Conroe, Texas, and Donna Gail Buffa and husband Jerry of Detroit; one sister, Juanita Bishop and husband Jack of Jacksonville, Fla.; lifelong friend and mother of his children, Dorothy Broussard Hasha of Lake Charles; 11 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; one stepson, Aaron Romero of Baytown, Texas; three stepdaughters, Sylvia Lovelace of Lake Charles, Linda Ann Lisotta of Vinton and Diana Leger of Lake Charles; 11 stepgrandchildren and 21 stepgreatgrandchildren.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Father Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in New Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a rosary recited at 6 p.m., in the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service in the church hall.
