Death
Obituary from The Courier-Journal, Louisville, Kentucky, Tuesday, 3, 1981, Page D6:"Cecil W. Prather, 58, of 3801 Layside Drive, died Monday at Suburban Hospital. He was a native of Brandenburg, a veteran of World War II, an employee of Schmutz Manufacturing Co. and a member of American Legion Post 201. Survivors include his wife, the former Martha Near; a daughter, Mrs. Diane Pontrich; two sons, Jerry M. and Daniel J. Prather; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Bond; and eight grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3521 Goldsmith Lane, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation at Ratterman's, 3800 Bardstown Road, will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday."
