Centertown resident and Warren County native Ruth J. Prater, 85, died Dec. 10 at NHC Healthcare after an extended illness.
A retired employee of Genesco and homemaker and a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church and Centertown CIC, she was the daughter of the late W.C. and Milbry Taylor Jacobs; and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Prater; granddaughter, Brittney Shae Prater; and brothers, R.C. and Glen Robert Jacobs.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Shirley Ann Prater of McMinnville; grandchildren, Tatum Leigh Prater, Brandon Wayne McLaughlin, Brian Dwayne McLaughlin, Kara Denise McLaughlin and James Todd McLaughlin; and great-grandchildren, Jacklyne and Kendra McLaughlin.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with John Padgett officiating. Burial will follow at Centertown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service today at McMinnville Funeral Home.
McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
