Ivy Bluff community resident and Lawrence County native Flora Dell Prater, 85, died July 18 at her home.
A homemaker, basket weaver and a member of Ivy Bluff Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Basker Harrison and Della Roberts Prater; and was preceded in death by her husband, James Medford Prater; son, Curtis Prater; brothers, Robert Lee Prater and John B. Prater.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Perry Stephens of Tullahoma, Linda and Charles E. Hale, Elaine and Rick Holobaugh, all of McMinnville; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Geneva Prater, Leon and Jackie Prater, Gary and Phyllis Prater, all of McMinnville; son, Tommy Prater of McMinnville; sister, Beatrice Prater of McMinnville; 18 grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at McMinnville Funeral Home with Odell Powell and Bob Deason officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at McMinnville Funeral Home.
McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
