Hi Art. Thanks for the photo of Alpheus and Amanda. I have some information which is a bit confusing --

One set of records (from Dorothy Olive Hall, daughter of Blanche Wright) indicates that her father, George Wright b. 7 Dec 1848 in Miami County, Indiana was married to a Margaret A. Starry b. 10 April 1851 in Fountain County, Indiana. They had the 6 children (one was still born), that I covered in the earlier email.

The other set of records (from Margaret Fae Hall, daughter of Blanche Wright and my grandmother) indicates that the same George Wright was married to a Margaret Meek and they had the 6 children (one was still born), that I covered in the earlier email. I think this is the better information.

It could be that Margaret Meek and Margaret Starry are same person and Starry was the name of her first husband. Or it could be that Margaret Meek, the wife of George Wright, was the daughter of Margaret Starry, from a second marriage to a man named Meek.

Here is quote from my grandmother, Margaret Fae Hall, daughter of Blanche. This was transcribed by my mother, Mary Fae Jones:

"Margaret Meek (Margaret Fae's grandmother) was a well-educated woman. Her family probably had money. She died when G'mama (Blanche) was 15. After that Aunt Ella (Margaret's sister) and her mother (Blanche's grandmother Meek) took Olive and Auber to Kansas City and sent them to an exclusive girls' school in Kansas. Ella's brother Abner was at one time the mayor of Osawatomie, Kansas and he never married. Meanwhile Blanche took care of both little one's -- Ada, 2, and Roy, 6 mo. When she was married the next year in Atoka in Indian Territory to Lee Hall, they took Ada and Roy with them for a while. Alvie stayed with his father. Aunt Olive later took Roy to live with her and Uncle Jim (Kelly) in Davis, Oklahoma. Blanche wanted to marry a man named Warren Butts, but it didn't work out that way, so she married Lee."

This certainly indicates that Meek was the name of George Wright's wife. Anyway, both sets of records will be in the package I send to you and Mark next week. Any insights from you or Mark would be appreciated.

Great to hear you went to college in COS and are familiar with Woodland Park. You need to come back and see the town today. Lots of changes from when I moved here in 1978.

Brooke.
