Gertrude Kellis, 91 of Monroe, died at 8:24 am, Friday in Greenbrook Manor in Monroe. She had been ill for the past year and a half and seriously ill for the past week.
Friends may call from 2 to 9pm, Sunday at the Allore Funeral Home in Monroe where services will be held at 11am, Monday. The Rev. Stanley Aubuchon, Trinity Lutheran Church of Monroe, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born July 21, 1908, in Tazewell, Tenn., she was the daughter of Pomp and Dora (Prater) Brooks. She married Louis Kellis, Nov.4 1927. He preceded her in death.
Mrs Kellis was a homemaker. She is survived by four sons, James J Kellis of Toledo, Ohio, Paul Kellis of California, Louis Kellis of Los Angeles, Calif., and Phillip D Kellis of Monroe; two daughters, Mrs Richard (Mary L) Lupke and Ms Cynthia M Kellis, both of Monroe; a brother, Gen Brooks of Lansing; a sister; Mossie Watson of Sandusky, Ohio; three grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren.
