Arlan A. Prater, age 33, of 2322 - 17th St. SE, Canton, was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday morning at Aultman Hospital. Born in Cosochton, Ohio , he had been a resident of Canton for the past 30 years.
he had attended Canton South High School. He was a veteran of Vietnam Conflict, having served in the U. S. Marine Corps. At the time of his death, he was employed at the Timken Co., where he had worked for the past 13 years. He was a member of the Indian Run Christian Church and a member of the national rifle association.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Prater, three children, Damien, Danyiel, and Lawrence Shane Prater all of the home. His parents, Mr and Mrs. Andrew (Mona) Prater, sister, Mrs. Barbara Ann Dixon, all of West Lafayette, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted Satuday at 1pm in the Reed funeral home with Rev Gary Robinson officiating. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home, 7-9 pm Friday night.
